"We were in the back garden," said Mr Collier, who has been in the Collier Building family business for 46 years. "I could see the back door of the van. I said to one of the boys to take some tools to the van and he came back and said 'where did you park it?'. It had gone. It was only a couple of minutes.
"All my tools have gone, about £3,000-worth, and some clothing. Some of my tools I have had all my life. I do everything, so I have got carpentry, brick-laying, plastering tools and others. I have lost my independence with the van going."
