“When I went outside, I noticed that power tools and drills were gone, someone had drilled a hole into the back of the van.

“It’s really upsetting, I have built a plastering company up just for this to happen, I now have to try and replace them myself.

“I would say about £500 worth of tools have been stolen.

“I am not the only person who this has happened to this weekend, I have seen many Facebook posts from people saying that the same thing has happened to them.

Tom Hole, marketing manager at Exall & Jones, said: “It’s come to our attention that a lot of hardworking people have had their vans broken into over the weekend with hundreds and thousands of pounds worth of tools stolen.

“These tools are the tradesman’s livelihood and without them they cannot work.

“I have got a lot of customers on Facebook, some I have dealt with for 10 years.

“I have had close friends who I have grown up with also messaging me saying how devastated they are. “I know how hardworking these people are and the hours that they put in.
